1. CONSTRUCTION LINE COMMAND
- This command is used to create a line of infinitive length. Sometimes it
considered as reference line. construction line is very important command in autocad. In
some cases it works as mirror line also. This command is normally used by civil
engineers . For their elevation drawings and sectional drawings. The big advantage of
construction line is that in creation of object we can trim the intersection portion . This
is very unknown command of autocad 2020. Because only users and professional designers
are aware by this command . These lines are useful for creating reference line and
construction lines. This command is like ray command . But ray command only passes
from its point to infinitive length . Where construction line command is passes from
its starting point to up and down direction.
- The short key of construction line of only two words (XLINE). This is
very simple for users to remember their short key. You can also trim the half portion of
construction line . Construction line is very unique command in autocad for users . For
beginners the knowledge of this command is not necessary. Some trainers teach the
construction line command to beginners. This is great for creation of unique drawings.

- For access of this command type their short key in command area (XLINE).
Specify point on working area by left clicking to your mouse button . Now specify
through point . Anywhere on the drawing area or working area. This is the great
command in autocad for users. You can also found this command and access from pull
down menu bar. When you type their short key in command area some option appear .
- options :
- POINT : Creation of xline by using two points through which it passes.
- HOR :Creates xline passing through in X-DIRECTION at any point.
- VER : Creates xline passing through in Y-DIRECTION at any point.
- ANG : Creates xline passing through at angle .
- BISECT : It creates xline which passes through the selected angle vertex and bisect
the angle between the first and second line . Important point xline lies in the plane
specify by three points in working area.
- OFFSET : It creates concentric xline parallel to another object.
PROCEDURE TO ACCESS
1. Short key : XLINE.
2. Ribbon Menu : Home > Draw panel > Construction Line.
3. Access from : Menu bar > Draw > Construction line.
