DEFINITION OF DRAW COMMANDS : Draw commands are initial
commands in autocad . It is very important to all autocad beginners .Knowledge of draw
commands . In this article we discussed about two draw commands which are important for
both branches mechanical and civil . Draw commands is very necessary commands in
autocad . To access the draw commands it found from draw panel and pull down
menu bar . It also access from their short keys . In this article we discussed about three

remember all their types especially for polygon command because polygon command is
important command and their type list is so long to remember . It is so important to read
carefully .

DRAW COMMANDS ARE
1. RECTANGLE : Rectangle command is one of the best command in
autocad . Rectangle commands creates a rectangular polyline by specifying rectangle
parameters like length, and width . Rectangle command is more useful to make simple
plan in autocad civil . Rectangle command found from draw panel or by short key .
It can also access from pull down menu bar . To draw rectangle on autocad working
area you type the short key of rectangle in command area (REC) then specify a first

corner point and after specifying three option appear A. Area B. Dimension C. Rotation.
Normal rectangle drawn by Dimension method . Type first letter of dimension (D) .
In command area a option appear of specifying length . Feed the value for rectangle
length and press enter then specify width for rectangle and press enter . Rectangle not
show on autocad screen once you click by mouse on working area to appear the
rectangle of the parameter which value you feed for rectangle length and rectangle
width.
THERE ARE MAIN FIVE TYPES OF RECTANGLE |
A. Rectangle By Dimension : To draw the rectangle there is
two parameter length and width. For active this command you simply type in command
area the short key of rectangle (REC) in command area . Then specify corner point for
rectangle . Option appear in command area A. Area B.Dimension C.Rotation .Type
dimension first letter D or simply click by cursor on letter (D) . Then feed the parameters
value length for rectangle and width for rectangle .
B. Rectangle By Rotation : It creates rectangle by rotated at
specified angle . For access this command you use to type rectangle short key REC in
command area and pres enter . Option appear A. Area B. Dimension C. Rotation . Type first
letter of rotation R . Then specify rotation angle . Press enter after feed the value of
rotation . Then option appear A. Area B. Dimension C. Rotation . Type letter ( d ) or simply
click by cursor on letter d . Then specify length and width for rectangle .
NOTE : TO FIX RECTANGLE ON AUTOCAD SCREEN LEFT CLICK BY
MOUSE ON WORKING AREA.
C. RECTANGLE BY CHAMFER : This type is very
important . This options allows to create rectangle with bevel cuts corners . For access this
command type short key of rectangle in command area . The option appear for chamfer
click firs letter of chamfer ( C) . Then specify first chamfer distance press enter . Feed
second chamfer distance and press enter .
D. RECTANGLE BY FILLET : This type is most popular
in autocad or interesting type in autocad . It used to create rectangle with round corners.
For access the command procedure is same as chamfer type .
2. POLYGON COMMAND : Polygon command is one of the
best draw command in autocad. This command is used normally for mechanical drawings
.
To create shapes like nut , and bolt head . Polygon command is used to create closed and
equal angle of closed polyline. It is very important command to users and beginners in
autocad for creation of shapes like you should not imagine . This command has very
advance use in autocad. It makes our drawing more simple and easy . From various
creation of command and their types . TO DRAW POLYGON THEIR IS MINIMUM
NUMBER OF SIDES (3 ) AND MAXIMUM NUMBER OF SIDES ( 1024).

A. CENTER METHOD : Center method is also known as with
center . In this polygon is drawn by typing short key of polygon in command area . Enter
number of sides. Then specify center point for polygon and option appear INSCRIBED
IN CIRCLE/CIRCUMSCRIBED ABOUT CIRCLE. Type first letter I for inscribed in circle.
NOTE : In this creation of polygon . Polygon drawn in the circle with 6 sides.
b. CURCUMSCRIBED ABOUT CIRCLE
In this creation of polygon . Polygon created by circumscribed option .
B. EDGE METHOD : This method to create polygon is also known as
without center method . To access this method type short key of polygon in command
area (POL). And enter number of sides . Then option appear you left click by mouse on
edge or simply type their first letter in command area E . Then specify first endpoint
of edge and for second endpoint of edge give the distance value .
